San Diego Comic Con Highlights

Last weekend I went to San Diego Comic Con. Those of you who know me know that I was born in San Diego and SDCC is my "home con." It had been three years since (1,095 days to be exact) since the last one, and I was stoked to be back. It seemed a little bit more chill than normal. The floor wasn't quite as crowded with people. I actually won a few lotteries (an Ozzy Osbourne signing and Funkoville on Sunday), which never happens during packed years. And I was able to get into the Severance offsite, which was incredible. If you've seen the show Severance, they flew like 75% of the set into San Diego and set it up in the Hard Rock Hotel and you got to walk through it and be "onboarded" as a new employee of Lumon. Artist Alley and Small Press were packed to the brim with incredible artists. I got to meet some new artists that I hadn't met before like @ChasingArtwork @johnjoseco and @MaryBellamy, as well as say hello to some favorites like @alohalilo @PascalCampion @rossdraws

My Bio

I'm an illustrator on several licensed properties like My Little Pony with IDW Publishing, Marvel, DC Comics, Adventure Time, Ghostbusters and more. I discovered anthology comics in the 90s finally getting published in 2001. I worked as in inker, penciler and creator on several books. Later I went into animation as an assistant and then into children's books out of London. I've also self published my own series Ah Heck!! and Faux Facts and had my first official table at San Diego Comic Con in 2009.

In my spare time, hah!, I also rescue cats, bake, self-publish and renovate my home. I post a lot of art, wips and photos over on my Instagram Feeds. I also upload my web version of Ah Heck!! here as well. Thanks for dropping by.

So they've changed notifications

Unfortunately with the new system of notifications it's only gotten worse trying to wade through updates and comments etc. I'm probably going to have to back away from trying to reply to things. I hate to do that but I don't have a lot of time to keep on top of this site in that way. I do still very much appreciate faves, comments etc. I just don't have the time to try to pick apart where the actual comments are.

A decade full of Pro work

Some people were listing things they did in the last decade and sometimes I forget all the stuff I've done. So here are a few things... I published 15 graphic novels, 3 sketchbooks, exhibited at SDCC every year, spoke on numerous comic convention panels, produced a toy line and sold them all, 3 fully-funded Kickstarters,8 My Little Pony covers, guest of honor for MLP conventions, 4 comic anthologies, designed a toy line and animated pitch reel for a thing, pitched 3 shows, entered the Nicktoons Shorts programs and got to go into pitch my shorts, came so close to getting a thing, I drew thousands of sketch cards for Marvel, Dc Comics, Adventu

Back to normal

Ok! Comic Con was the best yet! Things were great and I actually bought some exclusives this year. I'll be back to posting about normal stuff at this point. I might be scarce for a bit though as I'm working on a thing for Scholastic again. I do still have my Patreon and other commissions if you're interested or via email.
